Hey there! 😊 Happy Valentine’s Day!
I used one of my recent classes for my Altenew Educator Certification requirements, Easy Ink Blending Techniques, as a chance to make my husband’s Valentine’s Day card.
I was inspired by several elements of Amy Lee’s class with this card. I used Altenew’s “A Walk in the Woods” stamp set to created an emboss-resist. I used a few different colours of ink, including the ones I used to stand the sentiment from Label Love (also by Altenew).
Amy gave a great suggestion to search Pinterest for colour combo ideas. I wanted to use this Copper Penny embossing powder from Brutus Monroe, so I spent some time looking for a palette I liked. I found this one super inspiring:
I am so glad I looked for this, because I have really struggled with that embossing powder. I love the colour but I’ve just never been sure what to pair it with! I’m excited to try out some more options in future projects.
If I could do it again, I think I would add some
more layers of faux-watercolour to intensify the colour.
I finished it off with some cobalt-blue heart confetti and mounted the panel on a Neenah solar white card base.
I really enjoyed this class because it pushed me to combine techniques and skills in a way that I wouldn’t have otherwise. 😊
Thanks for stopping by!
